Latest newsletter from Suicide Prevention Scotland - June 2026
The latest edition of the Suicide Prevention Scotland newsletter is now available.
This edition reflects on the recent Creating Hope Together: Growing Capacity for Hope through Action conference, which brought together people from across Scotland to share learning, build connections and explore how collective action can help create hope in communities.
Through keynote presentations, workshops and conversations, attendees explored what helps turn hope into meaningful action and how we can continue to strengthen Scotland’s suicide prevention network.
In this edition, Haylis Smith, National Delivery Lead for Suicide Prevention Scotland, reflects on the conference and the importance of recognising the progress made in building a community of people and organisations committed to preventing suicide.
She highlights the power of partnership working and the importance of creating spaces where people feel welcomed, included and able to contribute.
The newsletter also includes reflections from the Time Space Compassion team, exploring themes from the conference including lived experience, compassion, inclusion and the importance of creating the conditions for meaningful change.
Alongside these reflections, attendees share what they took away from the day, including the importance of listening to people with lived and living experience, working collaboratively and continuing to take action that creates hope.
The June newsletter also includes updates on the Suicide Prevention Scotland National Network Knowledge Hub, a new online space designed to help members connect, share resources and continue conversations beyond network meetings.
There are also updates and opportunities to get involved, including information about the Fathers Network Scotland Dads Survey 2026 and key suicide prevention resources, guidance and documents.
The Suicide Prevention Scotland team would like to thank everyone who contributed to the conference and continues to support the shared ambition of Creating Hope Together.
