Scottish Suicide Information Database (ScotSID)

ScotSID is a database providing information on individuals who died from probable suicide.

The purpose of ScotSID is to:

  • provide a central repository for information on all probable suicide deaths in Scotland
  • support epidemiology
  • support policy-making and preventive activity

The database covers:

  • demographic information
  • contact with specified health services
  • related health data
