The Community Listening Service provides 50-minute, 1-to-1 appointments with NHS trained volunteers, accessed through various GP practices across Aberdeen City, Aberdeen Health Village or Get Active Northfield.

Services are available face-to-face, over the telephone or virtually.

This is for anyone struggling with challenges in their life. This could include bereavement, loss, caring responsibilities, illness or relationship breakdown.

Our Volunteers offer a space to speak openly without providing direction or advice.

The Listening Service is not best placed to offer crisis support but the I need help now page of this site provides information for those in need of more urgent support.

The service is available Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.

The Listening Service can also be accessed virtually using the Near Me system.

The Listening Service is free of charge. People can self refer through their GP practice by contacting the receptionist. We also accept referrals from staff.
